It was announced today that the 2018 Australian Malt Whisky Tasting Championship will be held on 28 July in Sydney's Powerhouse Museum. The event is different to most other whisky shows in Australia as it is a blind-tasting competition rather than a typical fair with stalls.
The Scotch Malt Whisky Society acts as main sponsor of the championship where entrants will have 30 minutes to assess eight whiskies and identify them, based on a summary sheet that will be available to them. Highest scorers win prizes. The event sounds like a lot of fun and an entertainment program ensures attendants will have time to unwind after their serious tasting activities.
More information about the event can be found on the organiser's website.
